Action Alert: Tell the Missoula City Council to let us Vote on Iraq! E-mail

Summary: Next Monday, the Missoula City Council will vote on whether we'll have a chance to vote on a referendum supporting a withdrawal of troops from Iraq. The council is closely divided. If we are going to be able to make our voices heard, now is the time to contact the council.

outofiraqblockNo issue is more vital to the future of our country than the war in Iraq. Over 3,500 Americans have died, tens of thousands more have been injured, and the full cost of the Iraq War over time could be as much as $2 trillion.

This war is being fought by America's youth and it will ultimately be paid for by America's youth. But the Missoula City Council is hesitant to give us a chance to voice our opinion of this war.

All we are asking for is an opportunity to cast ballots this fall urging Congress to end the occupation. But it looks even getting the opportunity to vote will be difficult.

Please -- take five minutes to contact the city council . Let them know that as a local Missoulian, you would appreciate being given the opportunity to cast a vote this fall on the continuing occupation.

Public votes on crucial issues of the day -- even advisory votes -- have a long history in the American republic.  There is no reason why the most vital issue of the day should be treated any differently.
